The Kamruddin Wedding
The first wedding of 2016 was a belter. I've always wanted to do a black and white treatment on the final video, and this was the first bride and groom who were crazy enough to let us do it! It was such a classic looking wedding that it works perfectly. The theme was 'white and light'.

This was a two-camera shoot as it was a Captured package (note the ground breaking name change of our packages) wedding. So we took along the Canon 600D along with the C100. The way we film these videos is we have two camera angles for the Ceremony, Speeches, and First dance which are set-up like so:

We've used all sorts of angles and set ups and this arrangement is the safest one possible. For these videos, safety is king, even more so than our Cinematic highlights videos. For example should you miss an arty shot of a smile at a reception, no bother, there will most likely be another one in a few seconds, whereas if you miss the kiss at the ceremony because the vicar stepped to their right... you're done for. Here's a shot of the beautiful couple to lighten the mood:

For the audio the groom didn't want to be mic-ed up, our workaround for that was to put a shotgun mic on the camera closest to the head table. The audio quality you hear over the first few seconds is the result of that. Ideally I would have taken a feed out of the sound desk at the venue, unfortunately the staff were less than helpful in this case and actually kicked me off the balcony (not literally, thankfully) at one point for 'health and safety reasons'. You do your best with what you've been given, and as I've said time and time again with weddings, you always have to prepare for the worst case scenario. I use three audio recorders for each of the Captured set-ups - a Rode smartLAV+ mic on the groom, a Rode shotgun mic on the camera and a feed from the sound desk onto a Zoom h4n (or if there is no PA or the PA is unavailable, I'll hide the Zoom as close to the action as possible).

From the bride: "I cry every time when I watch it back!!!! Thank you so much, the film is perfect and you make us look amazing haha!! I can't thank you enough!!!! I couldn't have asked for a better and more perfect film."
