The Dunning Wedding
Probably our favourite wedding video yet. Gorgeous couple, so many smiling faces and a beautiful sunset. Really professional feedback from this couple. The bride apparently had experience with videographers for her job and it really showed, her changes were comprehensive, she had slept on them, and they were accurately 'time-coded'.
The editing process can drag out horribly creating tension on both ends so please check out the following tips:
If you are a bride reading this I cannot stress enough the importance of time coding your changes, what I mean by this is, say for example you don't like the shot of the cake near the end, drag the playhead to the start of the shot of the cake, then take a look at the timecode on your video player, should say something like 00:02:03, then write down your change in the email with that exact timecode.
I strongly suggest to our brides that all the changes are in one email. I say this to keep the editing process as efficient as possible for the editor and also the one needing the edits. One round of edits can take up to a week, so imagine if you sent 3 edits one day then 2 in a few days then 8 a few days after, that's 3 weeks! So please watch the video over and over, sleep on it, review your changes the next day, then and only then hit the send button. It saves so much time and money for you in the long run. I also put a horrible fee on extra edits outside of my one round of drafts to further deter the client from dragging out the process.
From the bride: "We have watched the video over and over and absolutely love it. You managed to capture the magic of the day so perfectly...Thanks again for your amazing work! We feel so blessed to have had you there with us...It's absolutely perfect and everything we could've hoped for and more!"
